Frequently asked questions

What is the duration of the PhD program?
Mostly 3 ~ 3.5 years, depending on the PhD projects.
Does the lab support industry internships and international collaboration?
Yes. If your condition meets university regulation, we strongly encourage both industry internships and international collaboration when they align well with your research direction and training goals.
What is the usual working style for PhD students?
Per university regulation, we support a flexible and hybrid working style across on-campus and remote settings, and there is no daily clock-in or clock-out requirement.
What living stipend can PhD students usually expect?
Per university standard, PhD living stipends are approximately AUD 37,000 per year, subject to the relevant scholarship or program arrangement.
What is the expected guidance from supervisors?
Per university requirements you can expect a weekly one-to-one meeting with direct guidance from your supervisor.
Will I be asked to take on extra workload besides research?
No. We keep PhD students focused on their research rather than adding extra workload from other engineering projects or proposal writing, unless it's the requirement of a project funded position.
